Yes I Do! But Why Do I Have To Do Everything?

After dating for a year, my sweetheart and I decided to move in together. We started talking about marriage one week after meeting each other, so living together was the next logical step. We thought it would be a good way to save for our wedding the following summer. So I started saving for the wedding, and waiting for the ring. The proposal was not coming very fast as he did not have any money to pay for the ring… so I picked a date, reserved the church, the hall and started sewing my own dress… still waiting for that proposal to come. We’d agreed on buying fair trade jewellery because it helped individuals while….well, being cheaper to be honest than the high street jewellers!

Yes, the date was fixed, the dress was on its way, but the ring was nowhere to be seen! Then, one day, a bizarre voice message left me thinking that a RING had been purchased… a female voice asking my sweetheart for our ZIP code. I quickly confirmed it was the case by calling the female back and giving her our ZIP code! What a way to ruin a surprise… but I waited until he had officially proposed to tell him I knew it was coming. The saleswoman had blown it! So now I had the ring, I could continue the planning… and no, he never got involved in any decisions… I had to do everything, except buying the ring!
