It’s not that morbid a topic – it’s intimate, perhaps. It really depends. I mean, it depends on the person; it depends on the person’s personal and unique situation. You can’t very well say it isn’t a morbid topic to think of, while the policyholder’s waiting to find out from a doctor, whether he or she’s going to live within the next 24 hours. (There’s nothing that isn’t morbid about that situation.) But talking about life insurance can be a bit unpleasant, can be a bit awkward to think about. And if your relationship with your beneficiaries are frosty, are cold, then it’s sort odd. You get into a fight with a beneficiary, like a child or something, and you remember: “Hey, this person’s sort of crazy, and I just pissed her off. And that policy. I’m walking around with a price on my head!” Well, it’s not really that bad, but does make you think.
